Where R They?...|Latest Research Suggests The Existence Of Alien Life

NOTE: This is a follow-up to the previous article. For more knowledge of extraterrestrial life forms read the previous blog.

As discussed in the previous blog:

Fermi Paradox, named after the physicist Enrico Fermi is a question or rather say a paradox related to extra terrestrial life form. The topic was goes something like, "if there are billions of stars and galaxies formed before our own sun, atleast 1% of them must sustain life. If this is the case then such a life must be quite intelligent and have already mastered space-time travel. They will atleast make an attempt to communicate with us. Also, there must be billions of such civilizations. So where are they?" This was the famous question asked by Fermi which was later coined as The Fermi Paradox.
Many interesting solutions/ hypothesis are given for this paradox.

In this article we will discuss some of the possible solutions to this paradox :

 LIMIT OF LIFE:

Limit of life actually called as the popular Great Filter represents a limit or call it a filter beyond which a civilization cant progress. It is the deadline for a civilization. There are two possible scenarios-

i.  Either we already crossed such a filter and are the first one to achieve this…………or…………

ii. The great filter is ahead of us and is responsible for the extinction of many civilizations. Sooner or later we will face this filter and meet our fate.

This filter may be the cause of why there is no one in the space answering our call. This filter may appeal a civilization in different ways. Few of them are listed below:-

CASE I(Filter is achieved):

Intelligent life is rare itself: This solution suggests that intelligent life itself is quite rare and requires specific environmental requirements to form.
Try to look back millions of years ago when the first cell(life form) developed in the oceans. Complex life possibly, began when of these cell (say cell x) ate one of the other (say cell   y) and instead of digesting it, it kept this cell y as its powerhouse. Both the cells now live together in a symbiotic relationship helping each other. This is was the start of complex life. The cell y that was swallowed developed as the mitochondria of the cell x and has a separate DNA.
This process itself might be quite rare and possibly be the great filter blocking the development of complex life form and thus intelligent life. If such is the case we must consider ourselves to be quite lucky. We are the only civilization to get through is this filter.

CASE II:(Filter is ahead us)

Self Destruction:
An intelligent civilization can bring about its own death quite easily. It can be either due to over-technological progress resulting in environmental destruction, Artificial Intelligence in the wrong hands or bombarding each other to extinction.

Over-Technological Progress:
As the sizes of different automatons decrease with each development, a day will come when the automatons get smaller than our own blood cell and cause an incurable disease among humans(micro-matonian disease?). This is quite similar to the destruction caused by artificial intelligence. Technological progress also requires a lot of resources which we obtain from the earth itself. This may take up the essential natural components which are required for our survival.

Bombarding each other:
From the present day situation, a world war III is predicted to happen any time soon. This war unlike others won't be played with premature guns or catapults. A full-fledged war in this century will make World War I & II look like child's play. Artificial Intelligence will form a major part of the army. Hundreds and thousands of Missiles and Rockets will be bombarded on each other. Cyber crimes will also be prevalent(it already is though) during the wars. If by any means A.I. gains the control over humans during battles, people will be treated mercilessly. To dominate others most of the nations or groups may produce self thinking A.I. and bring destruction to humans. They might do the same and hence both will bombard each other to death.

Signals Go Undetected:

This solution is highly possible( after all English isn't spoken throughout the world, what about aliens huh?). Humans send electro-magnetic radiation for conversing with aliens. Though electro-magnetic radiation is a basic technology, either the aliens are still underdeveloped or they ignore it thinking them as one of the electro-magnetic background radiations. It also possible that the signals we send don’t reach till them.

Nobody re-texts:

Now, this quite similar to the previous one. This solution suggests that there are indeed many ancient, advanced, premature civilization. An attempt to communicate with other living beings is made by all, but everyone are just receiving. No one is bothered to look out for signals sent by others. Even we didn’t make an attempt to look to out for alien signals, less reply.
Suppose aliens too are trying to contact us but we don’t understand them. They may be in the form of complex algorithms, gamma ray bursts, or modulation methods we lack the knowledge of.

A Type III Civilization (Super Void):

Suppose there is an ancient civilization in the cosmos. If they managed to survive till now, they probably will appear like a Type III Civilization.
"A Type III Civilization is the type of civilization where the species are quite advanced in technology and are practically immortal. There are three types of civilization according to the Kardhashev scale. Type I, Type II, Type III. Humans rank 0.7 meaning we are so underdeveloped we don’t even stand a chance on this scale. A Type III civilization uses the energy of the whole galaxy to survive and are invincible."
Such a civilization will think earth as another resource for them and us as a puny little mortals. They will simply wipe out our planet with a push of a button. Humans won't even realize what's happening and in a split of a second the whole civilization will be doomed.
We won't get an evidence of their existence because they will be deriving energy from the stars they encounter and dim the possible light available. We won't particularly observe anything but see a darkened area among others.

Super Void: Super Void, as said in previous article is darkened area of space where quite a few stars are found than its surrounding or any other place. This indicates the existence of a Type III civilization. They extract energy from their surrounding star. If they end up deplenishing the energy of most of the stars, they might head for our sun someday and our search for extra-terrestrial life form will come to an end (sadly I will need to delete this article).

They see us, we don’t:

We humans are a 3Dimensional figure. An 4Dimensional object can't be perceived naturally by humans. Time might be a fourth dimension for us, but let us not consider time in this case. By a fourth dimension I mean to say a dimension which exists physically. Let me clear it bit.
Take a horizontal line. It is an one dimensional figure. Extend this line vertically to form a square. It is an two dimensional figure. Extend this square height wise to form a cube. It’s a three dimensional figure. Now, when we try to extend this cube in the 4th direction we get a 4dimensional figure (or rather blow our minds). Because we are 3dimensional beings a 4th dimension might be beyond our reach unless some external being interacts with us. A 4dimensional being may tend to be invisible or any other simple 3d structure. They will easily be able to see through things and even us (gross). Also they may easily interact with our internal organs, say our brain without even physically (from what we perceive) touching them.
If our alien is a 4Dimensional figure, we won't be able to see them. They might exist among us and we won't spot them.

Virtual Universe:

This hypothesis stats that we are quite far from considering ourselves as advanced. The inter-galactic (advanced) aliens may think we are pre-mature to interact with other intelligent species. Maybe on their system we still need to be more advanced to join them. They may keep such pre-mature species as us disconnected from the real universe till we gain experience and simultaneously learn to harness energy from stars.
Suppose you transport a squirrel in a deep remote forest. They or their next 1000 generations will never know humans. All the developed and advanced civilization may come to an agreement to keep us and our like species in a such an environment with no whatsoever connection with the real universe. They are probably allowing us to progress and become a Type-III civilization and then join the real universe.

But for now we have no proof of their(extra-terrestrial life form) existence and are truly alone in this vast universe. No one sends us messages no one responds to our calls. We have nothing to do but stare at those small inhabited  twinkling stars.
If we let life in this planet gone, then there may no other source of life present in this universe. Life would be gone forever leaving behind nothing but a lifeless universe. If this is the case we should probably pack our bags and move to the nearest stars and become the first TYPE-III civilization.
Hundreds of stars and galaxies are left to fill with billions of life and let this delicate flame of life burn till the death of the universe
